Crossfit Lillington – Mayhem Affiliate – Kids (5-8)
Warm-up
Red light/ Green light.
All kids line up side by side. They are racing to a marked distance, but they can only move when the light is “green.” So you say “green light,’ and they start to run. They must stop when you shout “red light” or they have to start over. The winner of each round can call the lights for the next.
Coaches can lead, and/or choose to let one child lead at a time, and choose from different movements:
-jog
-skip
-shuffle (right/left)
-backpedal
-bunny hop
-hop on one leg
-walk on heels/walk on toes
-lunge
Skill
Take 5-7 minutes to go over the skill of air squat.
Kids should mostly be proficient in:
-foot placement
-chest up at bottom of squat
-depth of squat
-keeping knees out (not letting knees cave in)
Metcon (AMRAP – Rounds and Reps)
Teams of 2
7:00 AMRAP (can adjust time, based on class time remaining)
7 burpees
7 squats
7 jumping jacks
Partner one completes a full round, then rests while partner 2 completes a full round…
