Warm-up
Warmup:
Simon Says. Work on listening skills with “Simon Says” and choose 5-6 movements (jumping jacks, situps, pushups, burpees, high knees, lunges, bunny hops, etc). Work movements in at coach’s preference. The main idea is to work on listening while moving for 5:00-7:00.
Skill
Skill: Chin over bar hold with slow lower to extended arms.
We have been working on a pullup progression. Review active shoulders, squeezing belly, and pointing toes. Today, we’re going to work on strength development for pullups. With coach help/supervision, assist the child to get their chin over the bar. Encourage them to hold their chin over the bar as long as possible, then come down as slow as possible. Repeat for a total of 3-4 times.
